SERVICES > SURFACE MINE PERMITTING/POLICY
Surface Mine Permitting/Policy
services range from the renewal of existing permits to submittal of complete permit packages for new operations. Because of our twenty year in-depth experience in this area we have been involved with policy development at both the state and county level.
STREAMLINE provides services for annual permitting/agency approvals of in-stream aggregate operations, extraction design plans, erosion control and storm water pollution prevention plans for quarry/processing operations, monitoring services throughout the year and representation at agency program development meetings. STREAMLINE has provided long term and annual extraction approvals for more than 30 surface mining operations in Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity Counties. Other services include management of annual aerial photography flights, monitoring, compilation of historic aerial coverage, stream assessments, financial assurance calculations and public hearing testimony.
Our experience is in working with the following agencies: County lead agencies (SMARA), Department of Fish and Game (DFG), CA Office of Mine Reclamation, Caltrans, RWQCB, Air Quality Districts, CA Coastal Commission, State Lands Commission, Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA Fisheries, USFWS, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Tribal governments, US Forest Service, National Park Service.
As our working relationships suggest, in this area we are "inside" of the system and involved in shaping state and local government policy. This includes implementation of federal law, authoring of background studies, creation of a realistic general plan policy framework as well as streamlining procedures and time frames. By working with both business management and government we have satisfied community concerns while allowing companies to operate in a successful manner.
