Stream Assessment Project Experience

 

Stream assessment services include compiling historic and current stream dimensions through research and field techniques. With our team of associates, physical and biological assessments have been completed for both agency and operator monitoring requirements. Services also include development of watershed assessments and land-use designations based on those assessments as well as design and placement of structures for habitat improvement and streamside protection. We offer water quality monitoring, storm water plans (SWPPPs), development of construction BMP’s, erosion and sediment control plans, Low Impact Development storm water designs.

  • Watershed Plans for five coastal streams, Trinidad-Westhaven Area
  • Annual Aerial Photo flights for 68 miles of streams in Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity Counties, since 1993
  • Historic aerial photo overlay for Lower Mad River (1941-2004), Lower Eel River 1958-2004) Historic Analysis of Bed Elevations on the Lower Mad River 1970-1998 and Lower Eel River (1931-2002)
  • Longitudinal Profiles for Lower Mad River (11 mi.), Lower Eel River (14 mi.), Trinity River near Willow Creek (1.3 mi.), Klamath River near Klamath Glen (2.5 mi.), South Fork Eel River sites near Cooks Valley (1.5 mi.) and Garberville (1.3 mi.)
  • Gauging Station assessments for stage relationship, flood elevations, historic changes, Tidal surveys on Mad River, Palco Marsh
  • Water quality sampling on streams near the cities of Arcata, Trinidad and Blue Lake Member, City of Arcata Creeks and Wetlands Committee, over twenty years involvement with committee oversight on more than fifty creek and wetland enhancements, restorations and mitigation projects
  • Stream Habitat mapping on Mad River and So. Fork Eel River
  • Chinook spawning surveys on portion of Mad River, 2003-2004
  • Bank erosion hazard determinations, bank protection projects on Mad River and So. Fork Eel River
