Looking at the volume of intentional environmental degradation, as well as that done in ignorance, it is clear that children are the hope for our future. Educating the next generation about the value, beauty, and function of our environment will create a generation that genuinely cares about the environment. Too much of the current generation still sees the environment as something to plunder. Far too many people and companies are damaging the environment in ways that will degrade our environment’s natural beauty and ecosystems, as well as our health.

Our modern world, including its technology and culture, are partly to blame. The drawing power that television, video games, and amusement parks exert on children has led them away from nature based experiences such as hiking, fishing, bird-watching, or camping. Urbanization has taken people from the farm or tribal hunting grounds, where kids grew up understanding and valuing the land. This new world also stunts our senses. Fast-paced city life trains us toward the Styrofoam, fuel-burning lifestyle. In the city, the environment that supports us is out of sight, out of mind.

It is our hope that, as this section of our website grows, we will be able to provide some activities that will help kids train their senses while increasing their appreciation for, and understanding of, the environment. Please feel free to download our games and activities below (in PDF format).
