The City of Trinidad is a small coastal city (population 311, Census 2000) within the Coastal zone. The City had the first approved Local Coastal Plan (LCP) in the state and continues to process its coastal development permits. Staff at STREAMLINE Planning has been providing a full array of planning department services for seventeen years (since 1988). Our responsibilities include providing office hours to the public, pre-application review meetings, processing all planning-related applications, building permit referrals, public noticing and agendas, staffing at planning commission meetings, upkeep of application databases, code enforcement and permit compliance and appeals to the City Council. STREAMLINE is responsible for all CEQA analysis. STREAMLINE has provided expert witness testimony on the City’s behalf and compiled administrative records.
Permit processing has included everything from daily property inquiries, coastal development permit processing to use permits, variances, subdivisions, to annexations, zone reclassifications and general plan map amendments. STREAMLINE has also participated in Town Hall/Visioning presentations and interagency meetings.
STREAMLINE Planning has been responsible for applying and successfully obtaining grant funds for GIS development, web site design, public education, water quality monitoring, general plan update, recreational and pedestrian improvements and watershed planning.
